Can Japan Become a Net-Zero Emitter by 2050?



Oct.29 -- Hiromichi Mizuno, a special adviser to Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and a former chief investment officer of the Government Pension Investment Fund, discusses Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga's policies. Suga pledged to turn his country into a net-zero greenhouse gas emitter by 2050. Mizuno is also a leader of the B Team, which is a global nonprofit initiative co-founded by Richard Branson and Jochen Zeitz that brings together a group of global leaders from business, civil society and government to catalyze a better way of doing business, that prioritizes the wellbeing of people and the planet.
