Gold gains to move above Rs 48,000; Silver near Rs 70,000

Gold prices edged up on Wednesday. Spot gold rose 0.2 per cent to $1,839.99 per ounce by 0210 GMT. US gold futures gained 0.2 per cent to $1,840.40.
