Gold rate today: Yellow metal just shy of Rs 48,000, Silver nears Rs 72,000

Gold futures on MCX were up by 0.68 per cent or Rs 322 at Rs 47,988 per 10 grams. Silver futures gained 1.14 per cent or Rs 812 to Rs 71,929 per kg.
